Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. The most famous part she played was as Emily Fields from the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. Following her successes in modeling, dancing and acting she decided to take acting lessons. Mitchell landed a few commercials, and guest appearances in a television show. Her big break came when she was filmed as Emily Fields. The critics and the fans alike praised her acting skills. Her next step was to make a mark in the world of cinema with films like the DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her part in the psychological thriller series "You" brought her more fame. Shay Mitchell has also written an adult novel called Bliss along together with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell's parents, Mark Mitchell (born April 10 1998) and Precious Garcia, brought her up on the streets of Ontario Canada. She is of Filipina origin, while her father comes from Irish/Scottish roots. Mitchell is also the relative to Lea Salonga - a famous musical theatre actress and singer. Mitchell went to Rockridge Secondary school before she moved into West Vancouver Secondary. She had already modeled around the world by the time she reached her teens. Following trips through Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto and studied acting.
